Description

The main target of the “Departamento de Aguas y Cambio Global” of the CN IGME-CSIC is to study the status and vulnerability of water resources and analyze sustainable management strategies. The role of groundwater and its strategic importance in the face of climate and/or global change are highlighted. The main research lines are:

  1. study of the Status (quantity and quality) and vulnerability of water resources and their suitability for different uses
  2. Planning and management of resources and reserves, and
  3. Water resources and facing climate and/or global change impacts.

The “Departamento de Aguas y Cambio Global” is structured into three Research Groups:

  1. “Recursos Hídricos, ecosistemas asociados y cambio climático y global (REACT)”
  2. “Hidrogeología aplicada y geotermia somera (GI-HAGS)”
  3. “Hidrogeología ambiental y cambio global (GI-HYGLO-Lab)”
